Rolling On The River and Avoiding Lymes Disease

                                                                                           August 8th, 2012

     Went tubing with some friend yesterday and got a wicked sunburn. Meadow and I got separated from the rest of the group near a spot the locals call 'Little Falls' though it might as well be called 'Sharp Rocks' as far as I'm concerned. The group went right and we went left. I chose to follow Meadow at the last second pushing of 'D's tube with my foot. It was touch and go for a while, quite literally. Meadow and I had to push ourselves up and over rocks for about 50 feet of river. We spent most of the incident talking about her job, it's very different from what I had previously imagined. We survived (obviously) but Meadows air mattress did not. Fortunately Meadow is a fabulous swimmer. After the whole group made it to the boat landing Rob gave us a ride back to the park were we put in to find that Meadow had locked herself out of her car accidentally. On my way to the shelter tonight I ran into a tattooed gentlemen with an 'OM' symbol inked on his neck. He used to stay and the shelter and once told me that he was Vedic Priest. Not sure believe that but he seems pretty centered in the spiritual sense...which is why he no longer stays at the shelter. Too much negative energy he told me. He also told me about a program where people work on Archeological digs for room and board. Thinking about checking it out, it would be cool to travel while I'm homeless and don't have to worry about rent or bills accruing...other than my storage unit. For now I need to smoke, need to mobilize, need to find a secluded place to sleep that won't give me Lymes disease. At the meeting tonight I had a minor epiphany;

Essentially my spirituality is all about 'NOW' and the way you revere the present moment in your life is through mindfulness.
